Summer is here, sun is glaring at us 17 hours/daily, temperature is increasing and I crave ice-cream XD… to think that April (spring) just started, it makes me a bit sad.

But wait, this year I have a cunning plan! I’m making ice popsicles, although I prefer my ice-cream to sit on a cone rather than a stick, but my family don’t believe in something called ice-cream machine… so, until they change their mind, I’ll be feeding them popsicles *evil grin*

My first patch was:

Sea-Salt ice-cream

It’s the famous ice-cream in the game “Kingdom Hearts II”, blue, cold, and salty… just like the sea. and I’m happy to report that it was a hit! the first patch disappeared in seconds, even if it wasn’t salt-ish enough.

I made this. It’s really good and salty, but you gotta wait for the custard to be done before you beat the egg whites…else they seperate

Anybody know how much freakin salt to use? I’v looked EVERYWHERE but noone specifies the amount of sea salt.

Mai - May 2, 2009

sadly I don’t know either, I just added 1/2 tsp, but it came out not salty enough… I think you can add and taste untill you get the right amount
sorry~

I don’t know much, but I tried table salt and it was alright, but I think you better use more because it won’t taste salty enough.

9. Tom - October 8, 2009

hey does it come out in the popsicle shape like that or did you do something special for it? please reply!

Mai - October 8, 2009

well, I used a mold, just pour in the ice cream and place a stick… my carving talents are a bit poor

Tom - October 9, 2009

are you kidding, it looks great and one last question… before you put it in the mold did you put the mix in an ice cream maker? Thank you so much!

Mai - October 10, 2009

^__^ well, this recipe doesn’t need an ice cream maker, you need either an electercal mixer or a wisk and a very very strong arm
hope that it’ll turn out good

Tom - October 11, 2009

ok thanks so much i can’t wait to make this!!! :-D
